Add Access-Control-Allow-Origin header to https://lolibooru.moe/post/index.json most other booru sites allow this (gelbooru requiring you to be logged in).

any chance we could get a mass download option? you know. in case of a crash, and a re upload is needed. or if my internet stops working for a few weeks ( more common than you would imagine).

i currently have 22 tabs open with different artists whose work i want to download. and my computer seems like its going to blow up

if it were possible i would imagine a system that would let you look up artist tags and allow you to download it in bulk either through regular downloads for no loss in quality, or compressed downloads in cases where you have little time. or slow internet.

we also need a "always see original version" option.

Have you tried imgbrd-grabber? I'm not sure how much server load it causes, but if DMSchmidt is OK with using it, it should do what you want. It also works on other boorus.
Add a clickable link to the "original" file for Flash files on the left with the filesize so people can right click and Save As...?

not working for me. the instalation keeps failing. but i doubt it could save everything from one category at once anyways.

I suppose that would depend on the size of the category. I won't say there isn't some sort of limit somewhere, but I haven't had trouble downloading entire categories of thousands of images off of Gelbooru. If you can search for it and have all the results come up, you can download it.
Can we have that option when a mouse hover over comments a little preview is showed up. Just like it's done on "image history" page.

And also make font with color for new messages
requesting that the "Logout" option is moved somewhere else on the account tab, since i way too many times have logged out on accident when trying to access my profile. hell, even a confirmation to log out would void this issue. just a small thing, thanks in advance

Dragging down "My Account" with your mouse or clicking the square next to it may be a faster solution for you.
seamless on pc, but i'm not here from there most of the time. didn't know about the drag-thing though, that's useful, thanks

All right. I moved the logout link to the bottom of the page.
much appreciated, thanks love
Maybe put an "examples" header above the images on https://lolibooru.moe/wiki/show?title=alphonse&nordirect=1 wiki entries as common practice. artist:alphonse ???

Also, could artists have little 16x16 Icons? that would be nice. Have it put automatically at the beginning of the tag. Hell, you could have it update straight from pixiv or elsewhere, could you? I should really learn php.

https://lolibooru.moe/help/posts They aren't borders, they're stars. And under the mode menu header I only have view, edit, flag, tag script, and reparent. Not all the ones listed.

https://lolibooru.moe/wiki is hard to get to.

Howto stuff is hard to get to.

The forum should look like Forum (1) instead of just being bold, and maybe extra red colored? It will motivate people to be more active on the forum.

And can you give me an example on how I could do formatting stuff to get to the links above? like stuff:here I can't seem to do that properly. artist:as109 artist:as109 ???

A lot of the information there can be outdated.

Many people seem to not know this, but clicking on the square button will bring up a drop down menu for easy access.

Read the DText wiki entry.

Maybe change it to a arrow or triangle so that it's more intuitive.
The 24 hour limit specified in forum #1107 should be 23 or 22 hours.

If it's 24 then the time one can post daily slowly increments forward every day. Eventually you'll have to skip a day.

Unless you just promote anyone posting five times a day, that probably wouldn't be too hard I guess.

Yes, absolutely.
If you don't already you should use a duplicate photo search along with the MD5 hash. Maybe shut down for a few minutes each week or two weeks and clean up. There are some good ones

here https://www.ashisoft.com/blog/top-5-best-duplicate-photo-finder-to-delete-duplicate-photos

Duplicate Photo Finder is definitely the best but you have to pay to access it's full functionality. I don't know how you'd implement something like this in the server itself but it wouldn't be that hard to do it manually every once in a while I think.

There is a major bug affecting posting limits, so worrying about its length is pointless at this point in time.
Janitors should be able to delete tags that have zero posts in the tag catalog.

Those tags are deleted automatically after a while.
I'm not complaingin, these are just ideas. (like storage, it'll probably grow cobwebs. And I'll add more periodically)

My main complaint with this site is how tags are organized, it's not bad but think of it this way, as a mod or admin you can type in whatever comes to mind but everyone else must follow strict guidelines, maybe there should be a subform for managing tags, like each post would be a criticism on a tags subjectivity or generality and another would be asking for advice on what to call a certain attribute of an image and another would be proposing a category of tags (for example the 1girl 4boy thing).

I feel discouraged from adding tags that I think would be useful for multiple reasons

  • They pretty much always get removed (like is it really hurting anybody? it just sits there doing nothing unless you happen to use english the same way I do.)
  • To be reasonable I'd have to go through every image organizing them into two (tag applies and tag doesn't apply) categories.
I feel like the conversations around new and existing tags would do several useful things.

  • Promote familiarity and give an easier way to identify what tags are most important
  • Recruit others to assist in adding other useful tags that someone has thought of
  • Properly define by democracy what tags are too subjective and what tags are useful
  • And centralize different tags denoting similar things
The form would include multiple sections

  • A basic form similar to the current one
  • The tag checklist, with it's current levels and sub-levels with three different options on structure and a sub tree at the top of the page for tags that are currently under debate.
  • Tags, the catalog we have now, just managed by people.
So the tree. It can be organized by importance, (by default, this is to keep people from seeing what they don't want to see) by importance (second option on the dropdown list or tab section, helps people find what they do want to see) and by category (
items
  • Clothes
  • Types of people
  • Specific people
  • Interactable item (ie. coffee mug, sword, dildo, hair ornament, lots of sub categories here)
  • Non interactable item (ie. concrete, a wall, furniture probably, jungle gym, a gym)
  • Body parts that are not human and types of creatures.
  • Animals
  • Fluids
  • etc.
descriptions of items
  • Body position
  • Body type (plump, skinny, short, flexible etc.)
  • Emotions and expressions
  • Actions (spanking, running)
  • Numerics (ie. too_many_sex_toys but 1girl does both descriptions and denotation so it would be under this or items [probably items] )
  • Fetishes
  • whatever is happening in the image or anything that would distinguish objects from a generic version of it ie. spiked_dildo vs dildo
art styles (slightly subjective)
  • I'm lazy so do it yourself
  • but actually
  • Level of realism
    • Shading
    • Form
    • Anatomy
    • Line work
    • Perspective and dimensionality
    • Texturing
    • Lighting
  • Chromatography (I'm stealing this word from biology haha)
    • Tint (brightness, ie. post #171493 vs post #195529) (I'll go over this later but to make it short it has five components on a spectrum)
    • Vignette
    • Contrast
    • Tone (blueish, redish, average color of the image pretty much)
    • Color contrast (blue on orange vs light blue on dark blue)
    • Color dogging and glowy looking images
  • Lots of stuff I don't know what to call that I could easily define for you by images. But if you want a sense of it look at a single artists work, they usually only fall into a specific category. You could also categorize them by the era of anime they mimic or if they have an original style.
Basically the only problem I'm having here is not having the right words.
)

Above that tree is another tree that is organized the same way automatically but doesn't include anything that wasn't recently interacted with (this is to notify people of new tags and anything important without them having to read the whole forum. It would be built by an algorithm with every tag having a specific place but each tree is built by showing or not showing the components of some theoretical master tree. Like if you seen a tag X under the hand based jewelry category under the jewelry category under the clothing category under the items category, it'll be there on the big tree too, just surrounded by less relevant information. lat's say tag X is a super-bowl 50 ring. And what does that denote like two images? good thing it's right next to any tags you'd want to imply it like ring and super-bowl_ring. Convenient and another way of aliasing and implying that doesn't rely on the community.

Bright (uhh, i'm not that bored, the ones you have to open to see clearly.)
Light post #195376 post #195372 post #195365 post #195417
Normal post #195395 post #195386 post #195335 post #195297 post #195321 post #195317
Bold post #195112 post #195119 post #195081 post #194901 post #194899
Dark post #195211 post #195058 post #194917 post #195617
(i was hard to decide on some of these, a balance between overall brightness and the brightness of key elements in the picture so excuse me if I'm inconsistent. That may be fixed with more analysis. and i wasn't looking at them at the same time, somenormals may be bold.)

I think subjectivity is on a scale so no tag is completely objective and no tag is completely subjective. On that, the following makes sense:

post #195596 is fundamentally different from post #195597 which is very different from post #176040 in ways we can all agree on, but what we don't agree on is what to call those differences and I think a dedicated form would achieve that. (I'd like to this [dynamic human language] be a part of our entire society but I'd pretty much have to take over the world for that, it would almost require a conlang of some sort.)

The checklist is pretty good but it's ambiguous, sometimes I simply don't know what things are called and what I make up isn't going to be the same as what someone else does. rough_lines vs sketchy vs unrealistic vs artistic vs detailed_lines. they all over lap and they could easily be confused with one another. Most of the components of this dedicated form exist somewhere on this site but if they were in one location and labeled "Tagging Forum" or "Tag Forum" it would be much more efficient and engaging. I have no means of popularizing the tools we do have and not the ambition to argue with everyone who disagrees with me. Personally I just often find myself not knowing what something is called or seeing something in an image that I'd like to see more of but being unable to do so. that's kind of what my previous proposition was about but this is much simpler and maybe better.

I could use a pool but it's a lot of work and I'm lazy and it wouldn't help anyone but me.

hmm there was something else I wanted to talk about but idk, I think I covered most of itt???

Oh yeah, I literally never use the 1boy 1girl tags ever and I never search for blue_umbrella and I never think of someone running as being particularly defining of good art. I know those are important because of the database like theme of this site, being more than just a hentai image site. I only ever search by artist and sometimes fetish. The fetishes are incomprehensive and ambiguous tho anyway, mainly because fetishes can't be fully defined by a word because everyone's are unique

p.s. this is what I love to do, this is why I am alive, to understand how people think and to find a way for everyone to get along and use our abilities fully. My favorite things are linguistics, mathematics, and physical problem solving (of course pretty much everything interests me, it's just those are like the base level for everything we do and think)

Also howto:romanise doesn't exist and a lot of other things I wouldn't know how to make. You'd pretty much have to hire someone full time to do any of this.

I should chill out uwu.
